I'm sensing another trend.

pharisaic \far-uh-SEY-ik\, adjective:
1. Practicing or advocating strict observance of external forms and ceremonies of religion or conduct without regard to the spirit; self-righteous; hypocritical.
2. Of or pertaining to the Pharisees.

Politics is rife with pharisaic characters.

  1. There's no escape, it seems. Isn't it fun to live in a battleground state?
